If you've got a sinking feeling that your husband may be cheating, don't jump to conclusions and accuse him before you have all the facts. Instead, observe your spouse's actions to determine whether he is being unfaithful. If you're fairly sure he is cheating, ask him about it. If you and your husband are both committed to staying together, your relationship may become even more stronger and more honest than it was before, the Mayo Clinic says.
Cell Phone Behavior
If your husband runs into the other room to answer a phone call when he usually talks on the phone in front of you, he may be cheating, says Rich Santos in an article in Marie Claire magazine's online website. If your husband's cell phone is ringing more often than usual, or he acts jumpy when he receives certain phone calls, it's a sign that he is receiving phone calls from another woman. Your husband also may be more protective of his phone. For instance, he may have let you use his phone to make a call before, but now he'd rather retrieve your phone from across the room than let you use his.
Changes in Grooming
A cheating husband may start grooming himself differently to fit the preferences of the new woman in his life, says Belisa Vranich, a clinical psychologist in New York City. If your husband has suddenly started shaving his back, trimming his chest hair or shaving in his private area, he may be seeing someone else who has requested he change his appearance. Smell your husband when he comes home from work at night. If he smells different than he did when he left for work, he may be using shampoo and soap from another woman's house.
Cheerful Attitude
If your husband has begun whistling or smiling more than usual around the house, he may be having an affair, Vranich says. Your husband may be getting additional sex and attention from another woman, so he may seem happier and more energetic than usual. Although some women may take their husband's new attitude as a sign that everything is going well in the marriage, acting too happy may be cause for alarm. Ask your husband why he is in such a good mood. If he gets nervous or changes the subject, you may have cause for suspicion.
