Libido is also called sex drive. Men and women both have it and are both susceptible to losing it. When it comes to women in particular, there are various things that can cause a compromised sex drive. Living a stressful life, going through hormonal changes and suffering from physical diseases like high blood pressure and arthritis can all contribute. With that being said, there are ways to boost a woman's sex drive that don't involve the use of conventional drugs.
Step 1
Eat some key foods. There are some foods that can have a positive effect on the sexual hormones and they can also boost the libido. Some of these include oysters, bananas, celery, avocados, figs, chocolate and garlic.
Step 2
Get some omega-3's. Omega-3 fatty acids are healthy fats that the body cannot produce on its own. According to Dr. Barbara Bartlik, sex therapist at Weil Cornell Medical Center, omega-3's can help increase circulation and improve the function of the nervous system which can increase sex drive. Some foods that have omega-3's include salmon, mackerel, herring, walnuts and flax seeds.
Step 3
Get some daily exercise. Exercising can do a number of things to the body. It can help you lose weight, build some muscle, improve your mood and also increase circulation to the body and the sexual regions. This can all lead to a better self image and an increased libido.
Step 4
Have your partner give you a massage. Touching of the body in the form of a sensual massage can be very relaxing and it can cause sexual stimulation. This can also help reduce stress or anxiety if you suffer from it. To set the mood even more, light some candles and play some soft music in the background.
Step 5
Partake in some de-stressing activities. Attend yoga, Pilates, Tai-chi or some form of meditative breathing classes to lower anxiety and stress levels. Invite your partner to join you to make it more intimate.

Seek the advice of a therapist. A sex therapist can sit down with you and help you come up with coping strategies, recommend some literature to look over and also offer some tips on how to improve your sex drive.
