Sea Aloe is the brand name of a liquid, plant-based whole food nutritional supplement. It contains over 80 different nutrients, including vitamins A, B-complex, C, D and E; the minerals calcium, magnesium, chromium, iodine and iron; and all the essential amino acids. There are only a handful of ingredients in Sea Aloe and all are vegan certified. Consult with your regular physician before beginning any supplementation program.

Aloe Vera

According to Herbwisdom.com, aloe vera has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antiviral properties. In 1994, aloe vera was approved by the Food and Drug Administration for treatment of HIV. Aloe vera is also commonly used externally to treat sunburn. It is one of the primary ingredients in Sea Aloe.

Pau D'arco

Pau d'arco is an ingredient in the Sea Aloe supplement. It is an herb that is taken from the inner bark of the taheebo tree. The tree is found primarily in Central America and South America, but it can also be grown in southern Florida. According to the Sea Aloe website, pau d'arco helps support healthy immune and lymphatic system function.

Sea Vegetables

Sea Aloe contains the sea vegetables kelp, ascophyllum nodosum, fucus vesiculosus, fucus, chondrus crispus, ulva lactuca and nori. Sea vegetables are not recognized as plants or animals but as part of a group known as algae. They can grow at great depths, as long as the sun is able to penetrate the water to reach them. Sea Aloe sources its sea vegetables from waters near Iceland and Canada. They contain protein and amino acids, as well as iodine, which aids in healthy thyroid function.

White and Concord Grapes

Sea Aloe contains both concord grape juice concentrate and white grape juice concentrate. They each contain a substance called resveratrol, which is a phytochemical compound. Concord grapes are purple in color, and are found in the Eastern U.S. and Pacific Northwest. White grapes originally came Europe and are native to Central Asia and the Mediterranean.

Cranberry

Cranberries are small, red bitter-tasting berries that are grown in many U.S. states, including Michigan, Maine, Minnesota, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin. Cranberries are high in antioxidants and a valuable source of vitamin C.

Black Cherry

Black cherries are native to North America and are typically found in Arizona, Florida, New Mexico and Texas. Black cherries contain anthocyanins, which give them their dark, rich color. They also contain melatonin, which is a hormone that is secreted by your brain's pineal gland and helps maintain your body's circadian rhythm.
