Cervicoplasty is a surgical procedure to remove saggy skin from the neck. If you don't feel you are prepared to put yourself through surgery, there are a number of exercises you can do to tighten and tone the muscles under your neck to reduce the appearance of a saggy neck. These exercises will tighten the muscles of the neck, but will not eliminate excess skin.
Front of Neck Exercise
This exercise tones and strengthens the muscles at the front of the neck. Sit or stand with your spine straight, and tilt your head up and back, lifting your chin about two inches. Simultaneously, press the tip of your tongue into the roof of your mouth to tighten the muscles at the front of your neck. Keep your tongue pressed there, and bring your chin down to your neck. You should feel a tightening sensation under your chin and in the front of your neck.
Chin and Neck Exercise
This exercise helps to tone the muscles in the chin and the front of the neck, to avoid a saggy neck. Begin by applying a moisturizer around your chin and mouth. Lift your lower lip to wrinkle your chin skin. You should be able to feel the muscle in the chin contracting. Pause while holding this contraction, then lower your chin so it is contracted while your jaw is dropped just slightly. Keep your head still throughout the exercise. You should feel the muscles in your chin and at the front of your neck working throughout the exercise.
Chewing Exercise
This exercise works your neck and throat muscles to help eliminate saggy skin. Sit straight with your head tilted up, looking at the ceiling. Close your lips and start moving your jaw in a chewing motion, as if you are eating with your mouth closed. Repeat up to 20 times.
Kissing Exercise
Similar to the chewing exercise, this exercise for a saggy neck works the muscles of your throat. Sit straight, with your head tilted up and looking at the ceiling, keeping your lips together. Pucker your lips into a kiss and push your lips out, as if you were trying to kiss the ceiling. Pucker for 10 seconds, then relax and return to the starting position.
Lower Lip Exercise
This exercise tightens your chin and the front of your neck. Sit straight with your chin tilted up to the ceiling, keeping your lips closed and relaxed. Extend your lower lip up over your top lip as far as you can and hold it for five seconds. You should feel a contraction in your chin and the front of your neck throughout the exercise.
