The golf swing incorporates numerous muscles, many of which are very large. It also uses the body's core, which generates the majority of your power. By learning some simple stretches, you can increase your flexibility, getting more turn in your swing, increasing stamina and power, and decreasing the likelihood of injury.
Back Stretch
Grip the back of a chair with your legs shoulder-width apart. Bend at the hips, keeping the spine straight, but bend at the knees and move away from the chair. This will aid in stretching the lumbar portion of the spine.
Hamstring Stretch
Place one leg on the cushion of your golf cart, and bend at the hip toward your outstretched leg while keeping it straight. Repeat with the other leg.
Hip Stretch
While in the seated position, cross one leg over the other by placing your ankle on your thigh. Push on the crossed leg at the knee, and you will feel a stretch in the hip of the crossed leg.
