Even though breasts are mostly associated with females, males have them as well. The composition and appearance is just different. In both sexes, there are muscles in the chest known as the pectorals. By firming these muscles with exercises, men can prevent man boobs and women can prevent age-related sagging. Multiple tools are utilized with these exercises.

Balls

Exercise balls are made of rubber and they are inflated to a capacity of 45 cm to 85 cm. These tools are used to firm the breasts with inclined and declined push-ups. Inclined push-ups work the lower breasts and they are done with your hands on the ball and declined push-ups work the upper chest and they are done with your feet or shins on the ball. The ball is also used for an isometric breast exercise, where you simply place your hands on the ball and squeeze forcefully for an extended period of time.

Benches

Flat, incline and decline benches are all breast firming tools. These are used to support the body from a face-up position while doing exercises like bench presses, incline presses and decline presses.

Bars and Bells

Barbells and dumbbells are types of free weights used to work the chest on weight benches. Standard Olympic barbells are 45 lbs. and they are used in conjunction with weight plates that range from 2.5 to 45 lbs. each. Dumbbells start at one pound and they go all the way up to 120 lbs.

Cable Machines

Chest flys and cable crossovers are two breast building exercises performed inside a cable machine. These exercises require single handle attachments that get fastened to high settings on the machine. These settings are adjustable as are the weights. To adjust the resistance, you need to slide a pin into a stack of weights. The machine has one stack on each side.

Chest Press

The chest press is a weight machine used to work the chest. A seated and lying version exists. With the seated chest press, sit in a chair, lean against the backrest and push the weighted handles forward. With the lying chest press, lie face-up on a bench, grab the weighted handles and push them straight up.

Chest Fly

The chest fly machine comes in two different styles. Both machines are operated from a seated position with your back against a backrest. The difference is with the handle position. With one, bend your elbows, place your inner arms against the padded supports and move them inward. With the other style, extend your arms out to your sides, grab handles and move them inward.

Towels

Towels are used for sliding push-ups. These are performed on a slippery floor surface. To do them, kneel on the floor, place each of your hands on a towel, then slide them out to your sides as you lower your chest toward the floor. Slowly return to the starting point and repeat.
