The Dead Sea is well known for its therapeutic properties. If you are unable to take a trip to Israel to enjoy this natural luxury, the next best thing is a Dead Sea salt bath to enjoy some its physical health benefits. Do not use Dead Sea salt as a replacement for medical treatments that have been prescribed by your physician.

Relieves Symptoms of Osteoarthritis and Tendinitis

Dr. I. Machtey conducted a study on 103 patients suffering from osteoarthritis and tendinitis by having them soak in Dead Sea salt baths. Improvement was found after only one week. Patients reported having an improvement in mobility and less pain, which allowed them to decrease their use of analgesics.

Relieves Symptoms of Psoriasis

Dr. I. Machtey also conducted a study where patients with psoriasis, a skin disorder that causes red and scaly patches on the skin, soaked in Dead Sea salt baths. After a few weeks, itching and scaling on patients' skin patches either were reduced or completely disappeared. In effect, patients also reported having undisturbed sleep due to symptom relief.

Reduces Muscle Aches and Pains

Relaxing in a warm bath with Dead Sea salt relieves muscle aches and pains. Minerals in the salt increase your blood circulation. This allows your muscles to relax and release any tension. A Dead Sea bath can especially rejuvenate your body after exercise or help relieve stress at the end of the day.

Detoxifies Skin

The minerals in Dead Sea bath salts extract toxins from your body, detoxifying skin. Blood circulation is increased and brings more white blood cells toward the surface of your skin. These cells help heal any imperfections, while giving your skin a natural glow. In effect your skin is tightened, and the appearance of pores, wrinkles and lines are reduced.

Heals Acne

Dead Sea salts have a very high concentration of calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and bromide, which is essential for healthy looking skin. If you suffer from acne, soak in a Dead Sea salt bath for its skin benefits. Minerals in the salt naturally alleviate redness, irritation and swelling associated with acne.
