Like many people, you may have an old set of golf clubs taking up room in your garage. Fortunately, they can do more than collect dust. There are some things that you can do with them to put them to good use.

Get Some Money for Your Clubs

You can trade in old golf clubs for credit toward a new set of clubs. Many major retailers offer trade-in programs, providing a discount for a new set. Of course, the older the clubs, the less you will get for them, but if you want to clear space, this is still a worthwhile option.

Display Them

Some old golf clubs are considered antiques, and many golf enthusiasts choose to refurbish old clubs and display them. Antique wooden woods can be polished and mounted on the wall. They can also be mounted in a shadow box with other clubs and antique golf balls, and stay protected at the same time.

Donate Them

You could donate your old clubs to a charity. Some charities collect old golf clubs in sets or as individual clubs. They will also take old bags, balls and shoes. Be sure to ask for a receipt for your donation, since it is tax deductible. The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, for example, may accept donated clubs. Just think--you could donate your clubs to a kid who becomes the next Tiger Woods.
