The A2000 series from Wilson is a lightweight baseball glove designed for fast pitch play. This piece works utilizing a patented Dual Welting system and features pre-curved finger design. New gloves tend to be stiff. Taking the time to break in a plush leather baseball glove will adapt it to fit your hand perfectly. A well-fitting glove will improve your game play and make the glove your own.

Step 1

Oil the glove to soften the leather. BaseballGloves.com suggests foam shaving cream, Vaseline or saddle soap work well to soften leather on a glove. Many manufacturers also produce oil designed for breaking in a leather glove. Oil the entire glove, front and back, for best results.

Step 2

Insert a regulation baseball into the pocket of the glove and fold it over. Place a rubber band around the outside of the folded glove to secure it. According to Wilson, this method will require a number of rubber bands, situated in key areas on the glove to fit it appropriately. Place at least one band along the top, bottom and center of the glove. Lay the secured glove aside until the next time you need it.

Step 3

Arrange a game for you and your friends. This will give you the opportunity to wear the glove and help it form to your hand.

Tips and Warnings

  • BaseballGloves.com states shoelaces, string or a belt can be used instead of the rubber bands to hold the glove in a folded position. Ensure the connection is tight.
  • Do not place anything heavy on the glove.
