According to the Mayo Clinic, the most common techniques for mole removal include shave excision and excisional surgery, both of which involve a doctor cutting into the skin to remove the mole from the body. While these methods do work, they are also expensive and invasive. Luckily, there are some home remedies that can help you get rid of moles naturally. Supporters of these remedies claim that they work, but these claims have not been backed by the FDA, so you should talk to your doctor before beginning any new self-treatment.
Sea Salt, Castor Oil and Lemon Juice
According to Melanie A. Sachs, author of “Ayurvedic Beauty Care,” a mixture of sea salt, castor oil and freshly squeezed lemon juice can help make moles on the skin disappear. To use sea salt, castor oil and lemon juice, combine 1 tsp. ground sea salt, 3 tsp. castor oil and 1 tsp. lemon juice in a small container and stir it thoroughly to combine the ingredients. Gently massage a small amount of the mixture onto the mole and leave it on for 20 to 25 minutes or until almost dry. Rinse the skin with cool water and wash with a gentle cleanser to remove the mixture from the skin and apply your moisturizer, if you use one. This treatment should be repeated daily unless it irritates your skin. Unused portions of the mixture can be kept for two to three days in the refrigerator.
Cumin Seeds, Dandelion Root and Whole Milk
According to Vasant Lad, author of "The Complete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies," a mixture of ground cumin seeds, dandelion root and whole milk can be applied topically to get rid of moles. To use cumin seeds, dandelion root and whole milk on the skin, combine 1 tsp. ground cumin seeds, 2 tbsp. chopped dandelion root and f4 tsp. milk in a blender or food processor and process for 20 to 30 seconds until thoroughly combined. Transfer the mixture to a small container with a tight-fitting lid and gently massage a small amount of the mixture onto the affected area. Leave the mixture on for five to seven minutes before rinsing with cool water and washing with a mild soap. This treatment can be applied daily unless irritation occurs, and unused portions can be kept in the refrigerator for 48 hours.
Grapefruit Essential Oil and Avocado Oil
According to Ann Worwood, author of "The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy," a mixture of grapefruit essential oil and avocado oil can be applied to moles to help get rid of them. To use this mixture, combine one part grapefruit essential oil and ten parts avocado oil in a small bottle or jar with a tight-fitting lid. Shake the mixture to combine and apply a thin layer of the mixture to the skin with a clean cotton ball or pad. Leave the mixture on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing with cool water. There is no need to wash your skin with soap after using this treatment unless it causes discomfort. Unused portions of the mixture can be kept for 30 days in a cool, dark place.
