Outdoor trampoline games provide hours of wholesome activity and exercise. Before you begin, check the safety of the trampoline. Position it in a level location, with at least 6 feet of space in every direction, advises Kiddie Gardens. Make sure the trampoline has a frame pad that covers the springs to prevent injuries to fingers, toes and other body parts. For additional safety, install a safety net to prevent people from falling off.
Add-a-Trick
Have all the players sit on the pad at the edge of the trampoline. The first person starts by doing a trick of his choice. After he sits down, the next player goes to the center, repeats the first trick then adds his own. Continue until all the players have had a turn. Set rules according to the level of the jumpers. If they are mostly beginners, you may not want them attempting flips and other more complicated stunts.
Dodgeball
Dodgeball on the trampoline is different from dodgeball on the ground. You'll need the safety net for this game, or someone will have to constantly fetch wayward balls. Place three or four balls on the trampoline and have everyone start jumping. The goal is to keep from getting hit by the balls as they bounce around. Once someone is hit by a ball 10 times, that person is out. The game continues until only one jumper is left.
Ball Toss
You'll need half as many tennis balls as jumpers. The jumpers should stand in a circle on the trampoline. All the players on one side will have a tennis ball, with their tossing partners directly across from them. Someone blows a whistle or shouts "Go!" Those players who have tennis balls toss the balls to the players across the trampoline from them. Once they catch the balls, those players toss them back to the original players. If the balls are dropped, the one who missed has to get it, return to her original position and toss it back. The team with the most successful tosses after a timed interval wins.
Simon Says
One person, "Simon," will be on the ground shouting instructions to the players on the trampoline. Some of the instructions may include hop on one foot, perform a spike jump, land on your rear, jump up and clap three times before landing. You can designate the winner as the person who performs the longest without messing up, or everyone can just enjoy the funny moves on the trampoline.
