Walk the aisle of your favorite drugstore or department store's cosmetics department and you'll see hundreds of different skin care products ranging from skin care creams to blemish-disguising makeup. These cosmetics can work together to both correct and conceal fine lines and wrinkles for a more flawless, youthful complexion. For the best results, choose a cosmetics product that's been reviewed and recommended by beauty experts.
Avon Anew Ultimate Day Age Repair Cream SPF 25
Anti-aging skin care expert Paula Begoun tested and reviewed Avon's repair cream and said it was very good with "a lot going for it." It's formulated with glycolic acid, a form of alpha hydroxy acid, which the University of Maryland Medical Center reports can effectively diminish wrinkle lines. It also has built-in sunscreen ingredients to keep new wrinkles from forming. Begoun concludes that this is "definitely a product to consider."
Clé de Peau Beauté
The beauty editors of "InStyle" magazine gave Clé de Peau Beauté's concealer products top marks. They come in stick form with four different shades that match light to medim skin tones. A quick dab with the stick and a little blending can help disguise blemishes like freckles or dark undereye circles. The magazine liked that the concealer helps conceal without sinking into your wrinkles, which is important, as such settling only serves to highlight the severity of your fine lines.
Cover FX Skin Tint FX Moisturizing Treatment and Tint SPF 30
Cover FX's sheer moisturizer is made with "state-of-the-art ingredients," says Begoun. It's ideal if you want very sheer coverage for fine lines. Begoun tested the cream and said it dries to a "soft powder finish" to quickly correct your skin tone and any small blemishes. Importantly, Cover FX adds zinc oxide and titanium oxide to help fend off the ultraviolet rays that cause wrinkles to form in the first place.
Bobbi Brown Concealer
Bobbi Brown's creamy concealer won top marks from "InStyle" magazine. The magazine's beauty editors highlighted its chestnut tint as the best dark skin concealer in both 2009 and 2010. They loved how it includes potent moisturizers to plump the surface of your skin, effectively "canceling out fine lines." The concealer also contains wrinkle-fighting vitamin A and moisturizing vitamin E. The company offers 13 other shades for other skin colors.
Smashbox Photo Finish
Foundation primers are very important if you have wrinkled skin. The primer fills in surface pits and lines to give your makeup an even surface and keep your cosmetics from sinking into your wrinkles. "Women's Health" magazine recommends Smashbox's primer, calling it "great" for filling in irregularities. It's formulated with green tea extract, vitamin E and vitamin A in a silicone base, thus helping to condition and protect your skin as it fills your lines.
