Dieting often causes your metabolism to slow down, which stops fat loss. Proper supplementation is perfect at this time, since it raises the metabolism to help you drop body fat. In the quest to get lean, a few supplements have been scientifically proven to burn fat. Remember, supplements should only accompany a proper training and nutrition program, not replace it. Consult your doctor before taking any supplements.
Yohimbine
Yohimbine might be a promising supplement against the war on fat, according to “Research in Sports Medicine.” Researchers analyzed the effects of yohimbine supplementation on body fat mass, and found that subjects ingesting 20 mg of yohimbine per day for 21 days had significantly greater fat loss compared to those consuming a placebo containing cellulose.
Resveratrol
Besides boosting heart health, the main ingredient in red wine may also aid fat loss. According to the Nutra Ingredients website, researchers studying the impact of resveratrol on fat tissue found that pure resveratrol inhibits fat production in fat cells. Scientists suggest that resveratrol may be useful in the management of obesity.
Leucine
Leucine is one of the branched-chain amino acids, the variety involved in muscle growth and recovery. Research published in the journal “Nutrition” found that subjects on a reduced-calorie diet, supplemented with leucine for six weeks, lost more body fat than subjects following the same diet without leucine supplementation.
Xanthigen
Researchers documented the effects of Xanthigen, which consists of pomegranate-seed oil and a brown marine algae called fucoxanthin, on body fat and liver lipid in obese subjects with fatty liver disease. During a 16-week study, subjects ingested either Xanthigen or a placebo. According to “Diabetes, Obesity & Metabolism,” scientists found that the Xanthigen group lost a significant amount of body fat, particularly around the abdominal region, compared to those with a placebo. The Xanthigen group also reduced liver fat content.
