Hair damage affects your hair cuticles and cortex and can appear as split ends and frizz. Significant damage can also change your hair's texture, warns haircare expert Paula Begoun. Inadequate hydration, stress from heat styling tools and overexposure to the elements like the sun can all cause hair damage. Several haircare products come infused with moisturizers, sealants and nourishing vitamins to help limit the appearance of damage and reduce your hair's risk of further damage.
Moroccanoil Treatment
The beauty editors of "InStyle" magazine called Moroccanoil's oil treatment a "best beauty buy," giving the product their rare "Editors' Pick" award. The treatment is formulated with natural oils like aragan oil, and contains a heavy dose of silicone. The ingredients work together to help hydrate dry, damaged hair to restore its natural softness and gloss. The magazine concludes that it's "amazingly weightless" and "nourishing."
Citré Shine Miracle Anti-Frizz Polishing Serum
Healthcare expert Paula Begoun tested Citré Shine's anti-frizz treatment and called it "very good." She also notes that it's one of the "more affordable" treatments available, and loved the way it helped to smooth away frizz and damaged cuticles for better shine. Besides silicone, the manufacturer adds antioxidant-rich citrus extracts, hair-strengthening panthenol and hydrolyzed protein. Begoun concludes that using it will "show off the nuances and vibrancy" of your hair.
Pantene Pro-V Restoratives Frizz Control Conditioner
"Real Simple" magazine highlights Pantene Pro-V's anti-frizz conditioner as one of the best budget-friendly hair products for dry hair. The magazine notes that it can help keep your hair soft and frizz-free even in high-humidity conditions. It works by establishing a moisture seal around your hair strands to lock out humidity and deeply hydrate your damaged strands. Silicone additives also help smooth down your hair cuticles for improved shine.
Davines Alchemic Shampoo & Conditioner
Davines manufactures several shampoos and conditioners under its Alchemic product line, all of which earned praise from "Elle" magazine for their ability to "mend split-ends." As the shampoos cleanse your hair, they also nourish your strands with panthenol, olive oil and hydrolized milk proteins to smooth away signs of hair damage. Although the shampoos and conditioners in the line share common ingredients, each is formulated for a different hair color to help enhance your natural or dyed appearance with the inclusion of color pigments.
