“Follow your dreams,” states an old adage. Oftentimes, well-intentioned friends and family have their own opinions about the path you are taking in your life, even if you are certain you are doing the right thing. These opinions may cause you to question or doubt your actions. The Bach walnut essence is purported to help combat the self-doubt that comes from outside influences or major life changes. Bach flower essences are an alternative therapy and are not meant as a replacement for traditional health care. Though the Bach Center claims the remedies don't cause side effects, mild allergic reactions are still possible. Speak to your physician and a Bach practitioner before using the Bach walnut remedy.

White Chestnut and Larch

White chestnut is the Bach flower remedy for individuals whose internal voice won't stop voicing doubts. That nagging little voice that argues every action you take and every thought you have is described by the Bach Center as a white chestnut state. Those doubts and thoughts may have been triggered by something someone said or did to dissuade you from your course in life. In this instance, a combination of white chestnut and walnut may be useful. If another person's words or actions have caused self doubt, larch and walnut makes a viable remedy. Larch is a remedy for those suffering from a lack of confidence in their actions or feelings of inadequacy, as stated by "Bach Flower Remedies: Form and Function." No contraindications for the walnut, white chestnut or larch essences have been noted by the Bach Center, though some individuals may experience a heightening of emotions the remedies are used to treat.

Aspen and Mimulus

When others interject their opinions, your mind may begin thinking of all the possibilities that could pass if you continue on with your chosen course in life. Aspen is the Bach remedy for fear of the unknown. Walnut allows you to overcome the outside factors causing this fear, while aspen works to ease your mind. A mixture of the walnut and aspen Bach remedies can ease the mind and allow the user to feel less afraid of change or progress, as outlined in "Mastering Bach Flower Therapies." On the other hand, if you know exactly what you're afraid of on your path, mimulus is a better choice. The mimulus remedy is purported to bring out a quiet strength, grace and courage. When mixed with walnut, mimulus allows you to handle change and public opinion with poise and ease. The Bach flower remedies have no reported interactions, though heightened emotions caused by repressed fears coming to the surface may occasionally cause a rash as noted by the Bach Center.

Beech and Impatiens

It may be hard to see where others are coming from when they criticize the changes in your life. The Bach beech remedy is aimed at inspiring compassion and understanding of others. Your family and friends may speak out against your choices because they worry and care about you, and though their opinions may be well-meaning, they're still unsolicited. Beech is a stop-gap measure that allows you to take a deep breath and see that, while those causing doubt may think they have your best interests in mind, they aren't necessarily correct, a sentiment noted in "Mastering Bach Flower Therapies." Similarly, the impatiens remedy is designed to combat impatience and irritability. If those inspiring self-doubt have a different method of living or an opposing view on life, impatiens and walnut may be the remedy of choice. The Bach Center notes that there are no drug interactions or side effects associated with their remedies, though this claim has not been studied or verified.
