Betnovate is a topical prescription skin cream that contains the medicinal ingredient betamethasone valerate, which is a corticosteroid or steroid. Rare Side Effects

The MayoClinic.com notes that rare side effects include skin blisters; increased hair growth on the back, face, forehead, legs and arms; discoloration of the skin; reddish to purple lines on the face, arms, legs, groin and trunk; and thinning and bruising of the skin.
