Betnovate is a topical prescription skin cream that contains the medicinal ingredient betamethasone valerate, which is a corticosteroid or steroid. Rare Side Effects
Steroids creams are potent medications and some individuals may react or experience rare and distressing side effects. The MayoClinic.com notes that rare side effects include skin blisters; increased hair growth on the back, face, forehead, legs and arms; discoloration of the skin; reddish to purple lines on the face, arms, legs, groin and trunk; and thinning and bruising of the skin. These side effects require immediate medical attention and ceasing use of the cream until otherwise advised by a physician.
