Miami Beaches
A couple can find romance in the sun, sand and surf by exploring Miami's beaches. Relaxing together and relishing in the Atlantic Ocean is a simple and romantic thing to do.
Depending on budget, a couple can spend a day at the beach with minimal expense, or a more luxurious experience, if they have the cash to do so.
A less expensive option would be one of the city beaches, such as the Haulover Beach Park area, with a mile and a half of beach, with optional dining, tennis and golf amenities.
Crandon Park in Key Biscayne is another beach loaded with activities or simply the 3-mile stretch of sand to savor some time together.
South Beach affords its visitors the opportunity to relax and also tap into the neighborhood's shopping and dining opportunities. Couples can hide out in rented cabanas for an extra getaway on the beach.
For Miami luxury, a stay at the Fontainebleau Hilton Spa allows the opportunity to pamper oneself at the beach in a lush resort setting.
Dining Opportunities
Romantic dining opportunities are another way to live it up for a weekend in Miami. The melange of cultures in the area contribute to unique dining opportunities.
Cuisine ranges from American to Caribbean to Chinese to Thai to Cuban to seafood. In addition to the city's diversity, the influence of the natural seafood reserves is another draw, with fresh-caught local fish and shellfish on many menus.
South Beach
A romantic walk through the Art Deco District of South Beach is one of the other things for couples to do on a weekend getaway in Miami. A couple can stroll along on their own, or enjoy a guided tour with local historians and architects versed in the art of Art Deco architecture. While in South Beach and taking in its unique character, there are opportunities to shop, dine and enjoy being together.
Art Basel
A romantic event to take in during a weekend in Miami is the Art Basel art show every December.
