Airstream Camping in Bar Harbor, Maine

The state of Maine is also known as "Vacationland." More specifically, Bar Harbor, Maine is home to Acadia National Park, which sits nestled on the ocean halfway along the coastline. There are many different campgrounds in the area, some of which are ideal for Airstream trailer camping.

Bar Harbor/Oceanside KOA

This campsite houses Airstream trailers that are rented by the night to campers. These trailers are fully furnished with many of the creature comforts from home. Other activities in and around the campground include swimming, fishing, whale watching and kayaking.

Blackwoods Campground

Located in the heart of Acadia National Park, the Blackwoods campground offers more than 300 camping sites that can fit an Airstream, which is up to 35 feet long. Camping is open year-round, but in the off-season months you must obtain a permit from the park's dispatch office. Once in the park, there are many activities such as hiking, a guided walking tour, swimming and even a boat cruise.

Mt. Desert Narrows

Located in the heart of Bar Harbor, Mt. Desert Narrows offers tent, RV and Airstream camping sites seasonally from late May through Columbus Day. With a location very close to Acadia National Park, outdoor activities for guests include whale watching tours, cycling through the Carriage Roads and swimming.

The Bar Harbor Campground

Also located in the heart of Bar Harbor, the Bar Harbor Campground offers sites fit for Airstream camping and other pull-through camping trailers and RVs. You can catch some fresh air as you canoe, fish and swim in the area, as well as explore another country with a quick trip to Nova Scotia, Canada to check out puffin birds and whales. This campsite also offers horseshoes, shuffleboard and basketball.

Timberland Acres

Located just 14 miles from the entrance of Acadia National Park, Timberland Acres RV Park provides many sites for Airstream owners who are looking to explore this area of Maine. Timberland Acres offers its own swimming pool and is open seasonally from mid-May though Mid-October. Airstream campers can also take advantage of the outdoor activities that Bar Harbor Maine is known for, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and hiking.
