While the U.S. Food and Drug Administration urged consumers to stop taking Hydroxycut products on May 1, 2009, Hydroxycut Cleanse was not one of them. This is due to the different ingredients found in Hydroxcut Cleanse, as opposed to the traditional Hydroxycut weight-loss products.
Effects
Hydroxycut Cleanse is designed to cleanse the body's liver, colon and digestive system with a blend of more 30 ingredients that promise "Gastrointestinal & Digestive Support, Liver Health Support, Flushing Support and Wellness Support."
Iovate Health Sciences, which manufactures Hydroxycut products, also claims Hydroxycut Cleanse "contains special probiotic compounds to support healthy intestinal microflora."
Taking Hydroxycut Cleanse
The seven-day Hydroxycut Cleanse program involves taking five pills twice a day with a glass of water. Lunch and dinner are the two recommended times when the pills should be taken. For best results, it is advised that the entire seven-day routine should be followed and a cleansing diet and exercise program undertaken simultaneously. Drinking 10 glasses of water per day is also recommended when following the program.

The supplements in Hydroxycut Cleanse are as follows: glucomannan powder, senna extract, cascara sagrada extract, psyllium powder, red clover extract, guar gum, slippery elm powder, ginger extract, rhubarb extract, fennel extract, alfalfa powder, xanthan gum, inulin, oligofructose, methylcellulose, milk thistle extract, turmeric extract, picrorhiza kurroa extract, artichoke extract, betaine HCI, hyssopus officinalis extract, parsley powder, dandelion powder, licorice extract, uva ursi extract, cranberry powder, chamomile extract, marshmallow powder, opuntia ficus-indica powder, European ash powder, hibiscus powder, alpha lipoic acid, L-cysteine HCI and blueberry extract.
Because Hydroxycut Cleanse is marketed as a proprietary blend, there is no way of knowing how much of each supplement is contained in a serving of five pills.
Additional Ingredients
There are additional ingredients that go into making each serving of Hydroxycut Cleanse. These are povidone, crospovidone, stearic acid, crscarmellose sodium, coating (hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, glycerin, demineralized water), magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and microcrystalline cellulose.
