Campgrounds in Gulf Shores
There are many RV and tent campgrounds for you to choose from in Gulf Shores. Enjoy camping near the Gulf beaches or at a site located on Mobile Bay. Most campgrounds offer full hookups, showers and laundry facilities. Some even have cable TV and Internet available. In addition to RV spaces and primitive sites, some campgrounds also rent cabins on Mobile Bay or Perdido Key.
Beach Camping
Gulf State Park, an Alabama State Park, is a family-friendly, pet-friendly state park. Dogs are allowed in cabins, campgrounds and trails at Gulf State Park. The park has the longest pier located on the Gulf of Mexico, according to the Alabama State Park system. The pier is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Pets are not allowed on the pier. There are also beach pavilions, picnic areas and nature trails. Due to the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the pier had been temporarily closed to fishing. As of June 24, 2010, the Gulf State Park Pier is open for recreational fishing. Please check with the Alabama State Parks website to verify the current conditions before going to the park.
Bay Camping
Camping on Mobile Bay provides a beautiful location to spend a few relaxing days with your family. Bay Breeze RV on the Bay is located on Mobile Bay. The campground offers 25 full-service sites, a fishing pier and dock, and a special pet area. The beach and bay are just minutes away. Another campground located on Mobile Bay, Fort Morgan RV Park offers a waterfront view from each site. Truly secluded from the hectic pace of the beaches, Fort Morgan RV Park offers nature trails and a fishing pier. Located near historic Fort Morgan and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge, the park is a tranquil family getaway. Pets are welcome.
Pet-Friendly Fun in Gulf Shores
Your pet can join you in quite a few activities in Gulf Shores. Gulf Shores Dog Park is located just a few minutes from Highway 59, behind the Gulf Shores Police Station. It's fenced and has benches. There are outdoor restaurants located in Gulf Shores that allow you to bring your pet. There are also fishing charters that allow you to bring your pet. Fort Morgan Park and Gulf State Park are also pet-friendly.
Things To Do in Gulf Shores
Gulf Shores has many healthy, engaging activities for your family. Deep-sea fishing charters are available. Rent a Jet Ski at the beach. Hike on nature trails in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Rufuge. Golf at one of the area's championship golf courses. Shop at the Outlet Mall in Foley, just 20 minutes inland. Fine dining and live entertainment are also available in Gulf Shores.
