Maintaining a healthy liver is crucial to its proper functioning. MayoClinic.com recommends minimizing exposure to toxins, cigarette smoke and alcohol to benefit the liver. Natural herbs used under the supervision and guidance of a physician may also help to cleanse and maintain the liver.
