Sunny Orlando boasts countless things for adults to do with teenagers. Whether it be sampling the variety of home-grown vegetables and fruits or checking out bike trails, there's always a good time to be had. Winter temperatures never fall too low there, so outdoor activities can be enjoyed year round.
Beaches
Though Orlando is not directly on the water, beaches are an hour away. Both Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach are close enough to enjoy for a day. Both beaches boast kayaking and canoeing, retail shops, restaurants, camping, jogging, hiking and swimming. Cocoa Beach also has the famous landmark, the Canaveral Pier, and is close to Cape Canaveral, making it a popular spot for people to watch shuttle launches.
Oranges
Florida is known for its delicious oranges. Visit an orchard and pick your own oranges. These places allow you to browse through the orchard, choose what you like and pay a minimal fee. In addition to oranges, many other fruits can be picked, such as blueberries, strawberries and peaches. The Lake County/Orlando area has such farms.
Disney
Of course, you cannot mention Orlando without mentioning Disney, since Disney takes up a very large part of the city. Disney attractions are ever-changing. As of July 2010, the attractions feature a water sports park where you can para-sail or ski, a gator land, and even a cruise line for the whole family. The restaurants inside and outside the park feature some healthy choices. However, with all the walking you will be doing, it might be all right to splurge a little.
Bike Trails
Orlando's bike trails go on for miles and usually have several stops along the way for resting, exercising and restrooms. If you choose to bring your bicycle with you from out of town, there is a bus line that travels from the Orlando International Airport that will carry your bike on a rack into town.
Paintball
If you and your teenager enjoy a bit rougher of a time, Orlando has many paintball fields. Some paintball centers have several different playing fields, with multiple games going on at once. Games might include killing zombies, alien invasion, terrorist attack, army madness or capture the flag. If you do not have a large enough group, the arena may be able to place you with another smaller group. The activity is intense and a good workout, but make sure to be properly covered.
