How to Cleanse the Body of Toxins

The older we get, the more toxins that build up in our bodies. These toxins show up as germs and bacteria and can make life difficult. A buildup of toxins can cause our health to diminish, our energy levels to drop and our awareness to dull. But there are ways to cleanse your body of these toxins.

Fasting

Step 1

Go on a fast, which is a good first step to cleansing your body of toxins. What doesn't go in, doesn't have to come out. That's the idea behind fasting. When you don't eat, you don't put toxins in your body, thus your body can work on the ones already present.

Step 2

Take in lots of water. Because toxins are taken out of the body through our kidneys and our intestines, drinking lots of water will help the process move faster. Water is nature's way of flushing out the bad. It also hyper-activates the kidneys, which do a majority of the work in the detoxification process. Adding lemon to the water makes for even more effective cleansing. Lemon kills germs and bacteria, removing them from our organs.

Step 3

Drink juice. Juice has natural enzymes that work to boost our immune system. The immune system is one of the chief fighters of germs and bacteria in our bodies. By adding juice, we are stimulating our immune system and making it work harder at ridding the body of toxins.

Step 4

Eat plenty of raw fruits and vegetables. Eating fruits and vegetables has the same effect on the body as drinking lots of juice. The active enzymes work with the immune system to remove toxins that are so readily taken in in our diets.
