The pulse of the Big Apple beats around the clock. In this vibrant landscape of colors and movement, couples can pursue healthy activities, weaving an interest in wellness with the pleasure of spending time together. New York offers outdoor adventures that can feed the senses and create long-lasting memories.

Sunrise on Manhattan

Rise before dawn, and find the walking entrance to the Brooklyn Bridge where Park Row and Centre Street meet. A wood-plank walkway invites pedestrians to climb above the traffic. When you reach the halfway point of the bridge, face west and treat your eyes to one of the most golden and shimmering views of Manhattan as the sun rises. Perched above the East River, you can turn around and grasp in one full rotation a panorama of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines.

Farmer's Market

As you step down from the Brooklyn Bridge, jog to South End Avenue at Liberty Street in Manhattan and visit Greenmarket, an open-air farmers’ market that features locally grown produce. Early in the morning, freshly baked goods scent the air. Sample fruits and breads and taste the apple cider. Watch chefs stir pots filled with fresh ingredients as they teach the recipe of the day as part of a program of cooking classes offered by Greenmarket.

Staten Island Stroll

Catch the Staten Island Ferry, a few blocks from Greenmarket, near Battery Park. This boat continuously runs between Manhattan and Staten Island. This 25-minute, free-of-charge water ride offers one of the best views of New York Harbor. When you step off the ferry, Staten Island's downtown greets you, right outside the ferry's terminal, with small shops, restaurants and some museums. Explore the St. George community, a neighborhood located at the northeastern tip of the island, and reach the Esplanade on the northern shore that displays a panoramic view of Manhattan.

Central Park

Once you are back in Manhattan, go to 59th Street at Fifth Avenue and rest your legs by snuggling on the back seat of a horse-drawn carriage. The driver will take you through some of the more romantic alleys of Central Park. Ask for the driver to take you to Cherry Hill, west of Bethesda Fountain. You can take an afternoon nap on gentle green grass slopes or gaze at the lake with its gliding rowboats.

Observatory

The 70th floor of the Rockefeller Center features the Top of the Rock. This open-air space on top of the building provides a view of the city with a range of 80 miles on clear days. Open until midnight, this setting invites you to watch the city as it turns on its lights with the sun setting down. Buying tickets in advance will save you from long waiting lines.
