Shamballa Reiki, also called the Shamballa Multidimensional Healing System, is a method of energy healing. Shamballa practitioners claim that the energy of Shamballa works on all levels of an individual’s being, including the physical body through to the outermost layers of the energy field. Because of this multi-layered quality, practitioners and teachers of Shamballa claim that it works on all dimensions. Shamballa treatments are safe, but are not a replacement for conventional medical treatment.

Origins

The Shamballa system expands on Reiki, a healing energy discovered by Mikaomi Usui, a student of literature and theology living in Kyoto Japan at the beginning of the 20th century. According to the website Usanam, around 1900, after a near-death experience Usui decided to devote his life to uncovering the healing methods taught by the Buddha. In 1914, while on a meditation retreat at Mount Kurama-yama, Usui had a satori, or enlightenment experience, and returned with the ability to draw energy from the universal life source and direct it through his hands to heal others. He continued to train Reiki students and perform healings until his death in 1926.

History

Spiritual teacher and healer John Armitage, also known as Hari Das Melchizedek and Hari Baba, reports on the website Shamballa Soul that in the early 1990s, an ascended master named Germain asked him if he would like to work on a new healing project. Although Germain described the project as Reiki, he noted that the new Shamballa healing energies offer a more direct connection with the divine source of healing. For this reason, many practitioners consider Shamballa to be a more intense and profound healing system than Reiki.

Theories/Speculation

According to theories, the Shamballa practitioner serves as a conduit for a positive healing energy that is sourced in the divine. In order to be a Shamballa practitioner, you must be attuned by a master teacher. Attunements usually take place in the context of a workshop or class. When you receive an attunement, it is akin to plugging in a lamp. Although the structure of the lamp is set up to channel electricity, the bulb will only light if the lamp is attached to the wall socket. Likewise, Shamballa energies only flow once you have been attuned to them.

According to the website Reiki Healing Path, while Usui Reiki practitioners use a set number of hand positions to treat the entire body, Shamballa energy flows wherever it needs to in order to heal the client.

What to Expect

A Shamballa healer will probably ask you to lie down on a massage table or similar surface when you go for a treatment. The practitioner may work hands on or off. Many people receiving Shamballa report sensations of heat, pressure or tingling, even in areas where the practitioner is not working. Because Shamballa works on all levels, including the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, you may experience emotions or thoughts that are surprising to you during a treatment. Most people find a Shamballa treatment to be relaxing and refreshing, and many clients report a relief from physical pain or other symptoms of illness.

Cautions

Not all Shamballa practitioners or schools are created equal. You should feel positive and definite effects during and after a Shamballa healing or attunement. There are many online sources that claim to offer distance Shamballa healings and attunements. If you can, find a master or practitioner in your local area. Although distance healings and attunements are possible according to Shamballa theory, it is much easier to verify the intentions and abilities of a practitioner if you can visit him in person.
