According to Sauna Fin website, your heart rate increases by up to 75 percent its normal rate after ten minutes inside a sauna. This can increase your metabolic rate and provide similar benefits as the ones you would get from a brisk walk. Because saunas cause you to sweat a lot, you will also lose any excess fluid you have accumulated. Do keep in mind that weight loss due to perspiration is likely to reverse as soon as you drink and eat normally.
Step 1
Go into a sauna for no more than 20 minutes at a time. If you feel dizzy or develop a headache, step out. Your body might need time to adjust to using a sauna, so go in for a few minutes at a time and then step out, take a break of a few minutes and go back in. Or use a sauna for only a few minutes and increase the time over a period of a couple of weeks.
Step 2
Drink plenty of water to help you stay hydrated. Drink a glass before entering the sauna and another one after you leave, to make sure you replenish anything lost by sweating. Don’t eat before entering a sauna, as this will engage your digestive system and slow down the cleansing.
Step 3
Use a sauna along with changes in diet. The sauna along won’t provide permanent weight changes. Instead, reduce the amount of fats and sugars you eat. Or cut down the amount of calories consumed by eating smaller portions.
Step 4
Exercise for at least 30 minutes on most days of the week. This will increase your weight loss. Don’t go into a sauna for at least 15 minutes after you finish exercising, so your body doesn’t overheat.
Step 5
Take a cool shower after using the sauna to help your body cool down. If you’re going to exercise, it’s better to do it before using the sauna rather than after, since the loss of fluids can make you weak or tired.
