Designed for use in the home, the Total Gym exercise system consists of a movable glideboard connected to a stand equipped with pulleys, cables and other accessories. Each workout generally consists of sitting or reclining on the glideboard and pushing or pulling on the cables, which provide resistance to your movements. After each workout, you can fold up the Total Gym for storage in a closet or under the bed.
Step 1
Detach any cables connected to installed accessories, such as the wing attachment or leg pull. Remove any hitch pins that may be holding the accessories in place. Remove the accessories and set them aside.
Step 2
Slide the glideboard toward the front end of the frame. Locate the small storage hole on the side of the glideboard; insert a hitch pin into the hole to secure the glideboard in place.
Step 3
Stand with one foot on the device's back crossbar. Use one hand to grip the height adjustment lever and use the other to support the weight of the frame. Lift the lever up and lower the frame onto the back crossbar. Push the lever back down until it is flush with the support column.
Step 4
Grip the red knob located at the base of the support column. Pull the knob outward until the attached pin releases the support column. Fold the support column down until it comes to a rest on the center rail.
Step 5
Reach up under the hinged portion of the frame. Push the hinge upward until the frame begins to fold. Grip the edges of each half of the frame and push the halves together until the device is fully folded.
Tips and Warnings
- If you plan to store the Total Gym in an upright position, you may wish to leave the squat stand accessory installed; this will add stability, allowing the device to stand upright without additional support. If the Total Gym remains too large to store as desired, you can remove the glideboard for separate storage; remove the pin from the storage hole, disconnect the pulley and then slide the glideboard off the frame. While you are folding your Total Gym, you may wish to also perform some simple maintenance; inspect the pulleys and cables for wear and use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down the rails and glideboard wheels.
- Exercise caution when folding your Total Gym; when pushing the sections together, keep your hands and fingers on the exterior of the device to help prevent injury.

IF YOU ARE DISABLED, BAD BACK, PARALYZED FOOT, DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE, PUTTING IN THE ACCESORIES AND THE SPEED OF THE INSTRUCTORS ARE A WORK OUT IT SELF. THE INSTRUCTORS HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT HOW HARD IT IS TO MOVE. THIS MACHINE IS NOT FOR ANYBODY WHO DOES NOT HAVE A VERY WILLING PARTNER TO HELP THROUGH ANY OF THE WORKOUTS
