How to Assemble My AB Rocket

The AB Rocket is designed for use in exercises that target the body's abdominal muscles. The device consists of a seat attached to a back support by hinges; by connecting resistance springs to each section, you can adjust the difficulty of your workout as desired. Consequently, you can continue to use the AB rocket as your abdominal muscles increase in strength. Assembling the device is a straightforward process requiring the use of only basic hand tools.

Assembly

Step 1

Place the back support between the two metal uprights. Align the ends of the support with the lowest set of holes on the uprights. Screw the support securely in place. Move to the next highest set of holes and install another back support; repeat with the remaining supports.

Step 2

Loosen the knobs on the brackets of the adjustable head support. Slide the brackets onto the ends of the metal uprights. Position the support as desired and tighten the knobs to secure the support in place.

Step 3

Select the desired resistance springs; the blue, red and black springs provide low, medium and high resistance, respectively. Locate the screw tops near where the uprights join with the seat; turn all the screw tops counterclockwise until they come free. Install your selected resistance spring onto the metal bolts, then replace the screw tops; turn the tops clockwise until they are securely tightened.

Step 4

Grip the end of the support bracket, located underneath the device's seat. Pull the bracket down and to the back of the device.

Step 5

Insert the ends of the grip handles into the openings on the bar at the front of the seat. Push each handle in until you feel the spring pin snap into position.

Storage

Step 1

Grip the upper screw top on the left resistance spring and turn it counterclockwise until it comes free; repeat with the upper screw top on the opposite side.

Step 2

Remove the end of each spring from the upper bolt and allow the springs to hang free from the lower bolt. Replace the upper screw tops and turn them clockwise until they are securely tightened.

Step 3

Push the left spring pin on the bar at the front of the seat and turn the left grip handle until it reaches a position convenient for storage; alternatively, remove the grip handle from the end of the bar. Repeat with the bar on the opposite side of the device.

Step 4

Grip the back support and pull it down. Fold the support up under the seat.
