The city of Eugene, Ore., is located in Lane County in western Oregon. The city is a hub of recreational activities that revolve around the Willamette and McKenzie Rivers like white water rafting, hiking and biking. Eugene Kamping World & RV Park
Eugene Kamping World & RV Park is located in Lane County just 7 miles from downtown Eugene, off of highway I-5. Tent campsites are available and the campground is equipped with laundry facilities, clean bathrooms and showers. You can use the basketball courts or play a round of horseshoes. Local attractions include scenic roadways with mountain backdrops through the Willamette Valley, whitewater rafting and walking trails.
The Willamette National Forest
The Willamette National Forest is located just 6 miles from Eugene in the city of Springfield. You can park your motorcycle and take a hike amid the forest on one of the developed hiking trails you can find on a trail map obtained from the Forest Office. There are developed campgrounds where you can tent camp and dispersed campgrounds, which means they are located outside the developed areas of the National Forest where you can camp more primitively. The developed campsites have picnic tables and fire pits and most have vault or flush toilets. Most of the campgrounds are on a first come, first serve basis. You need to check with the National Forest Service for availability and reservation requirements.
Armitage Park
Armitage Park located in Lane County is a public park maintained by the Lane County Department of Public Works. The park offers a picnic area, sports activities such as horseshoes and volleyball. A half mile long nature trail is located on the park grounds where you can walk adjacent to the McKenzie River. There is a campground with 37 camp sites. The tent campsites are accommodated with electric and water. Reservations are required; there is a $10 reservation fee and a $25 site fee.
Essentials
A good strong, waterproof tent is necessary for your motorcycle camping trip as it rains often in Eugene. A warm sleeping bag is essential for the cool Oregon nights. If you have room in your motorcycle pack, an air mat can take up very little space and can create much comfort between you and the hard ground you will be sleeping on.
