When visiting Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, camping is an option. There are several campground within a 15-mile radius of the theme park. While the amenities vary at each campground, most have a pool and most have basketball or other activities to help you stay in shape. If you are not traveling with an RV, some of them offer cabin rentals.
Anvil Campground
The Anvil Campground is located seven miles from Busch Gardens and offers bus shuttle service to the park. Amenities include complimentary coffee, laundry room, showers, restrooms, a pool and free wireless Internet. After a long day at the theme park wind down with a game of horseshoes, basketball or test your wits against one of the video games. Watch your children as they romp around on the playground. Campground facilities include 65 sites suitable for RVs or tents. Sites include water, electric and sewer. Premium sites include cable TV. The campground also has cottages for rent which sleep six. The one-bedroom cottages come with heat/air conditioning, dishes, pans, utensils, and linens. All you need to bring is your clothing and food.
Williamsburg KOA
The Williamsburg KOA is a 370-acre campground located seven miles from Busch Gardens. Here you can swim in one of two pools, play basketball or volleyball, check your email with the free wireless Internet or play a video game in the arcade. You will also enjoy jumping on the huge inflatable pillow. Other amenities include dog park, concession stand and bike rentals.
Accommodations include 183 campsites suitable for RVs and tents; one-room cabins sleep up to four people; two-room cabins sleep up to six and the camping lodge sleeps six and has a full kitchen and private bath. For all cabins and lodges you must bring your own linens.
American Heritage RV Park
The American Heritage RV Park is located 13 miles from Busch Gardens. Here you can relax by the pool after swimming a few laps; watch the kids sway on the swings; play a game of basketball; or play with your dog at the dog park. Other amenities include free wireless Internet, free wood, picnic tables, bouncy slide, nature trail and miniature golf.
Camping facilities include 167 sites standard or pull through both with full hook-ups including water, electric, sewer and cable TV. Other facilities include laundry room, showers and restrooms.
Williamsburg Pottery Campground
The Williamsburg Campground is located 10 miles from Busch Gardens. This campground offers 550 sites. Sites offer water, electric and sewer. Here you can relax by the pool, swim a few laps, have a picnic lunch or watch the kids play on the playground. This campground is pet friendly, but all dogs must be on a leash.
The Chippokes Plantation State Park
The Chippokes Plantation State Park is 14 miles from Busch Gardens. Here you can hike or bike along the 3.5-mile multi-use trail; go fishing, ride your horse along the 10-mile equestrian trail or swim some laps in the pool.
Camping facilities include 48 sites with either electric and water or just electric. They also have cabin rentals. The cabins are one, two and three bedrooms and sleep two to eight. They come fully furnished including all kitchen utensils and dishes. All you need to bring is food, sponge to wash dishes with and your clothing.
