Removing a scar altogether is not always possible, but there are ways to diminish it and make it less noticeable. Scaring forms due to injury or damage to the skin surface; this trauma can occur in an accident or just be a leftover reminder of acne. There are several medical approaches for scarring, such as laser treatments or dermabrasion, but look to the kitchen and the spice cabinet to create a less invasive procedure.
Mix one tsp. ground nutmeg and one tsp. unprocessed honey in a small bowl.
Wash the affected area with a mild cleanser.
Dip your fingers into the honey mixture and spread lightly over the scarred area. Let the nutmeg/honey compound sit for up to 20 minutes, and then wash it off with warm water.
Rewash the area if necessary to remove the honey compound, and then apply a light moisturizing lotion that contains aloe to the scar.
Repeat this process twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, until the scar fades.
