Acne and pimples emerge in response to numerous factors. The overproduction of oil caused by hormonal or external agents can clog pores and trap oil with naturally occurring bacteria, creating unsightly lesions and blemishes. By adhering to a simple and natural skin regimen, you can effectively reduce the appearance of acne and pimples.

Daily Cleanser

Step 1

Wash your face daily, recommends the American Academy of Dermatology. Certain acne-prone skin types may require more frequent cleansing. If you have oily acne-prone skin, you may need to wash your face up to three times a day. If you have dry skin, you may only need to wash it once.

Step 2

Combine 2 tablespoons of cornmeal with 1 tablespoon of water in a bowl. Mix the solution until the water is evenly dispersed.

Step 3

Apply the mixture to the face in an upward, circular motion to lift away impurities from the skin.

Step 4

Rinse your face thoroughly with warm water to remove the cleanser.

Face Toner

Step 1

Use a daily facial toner. Individuals with acne-prone skin should avoid strong toners and astringents that can promote clogged pores and acne, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Many commercial products contain oil-stripping alcohol that inflame skin and cause breakouts.

Step 2

Combine a 1/2 cup of witch hazel with 1/4 a cup of chamomile tea in a glass jar. Witch hazel refines pores enlarged by acne and pimples, while the chamomile soothes irritated skin.

Step 3

Add 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice with six drops of peppermint essential oil. Lemon juice and peppermint oil contain cleansing properties to remove trace impurities left by your cleanser. Apply the toner to your face using a cotton pad or ball.

Facial Mask

Step 1

Apply a weekly facial mask to clarify pores and remove deeply imbedded impurities. The Skin Disease Organization website asserts that using a natural face mask helps reduce acne and pimples by regulating oil production and eliminating debris that can clog pores.

Step 2

Combine half an over-ripened banana with half an over-ripened avocado in a bowl. The banana and avocado mixture supplies moisture and vitamins while trapping contaminants.

Step 3

Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the banana mixture. Yogurt soothes irritated skin associated with acne and pimples. Olive oil moisturizes and reduces the appearance of large pores and wrinkles.

Step 4

Mash the mixture together until the consistency is uniform. It will appear slightly chunky.

Step 5

Apply liberally to the face and neck. Let the mask stand for at least 15 minutes or until dry. Wash off with warm water followed by a cool water rinse.
