The transparent gel found in the fleshy leaves of the aloe plant offer nourishing vitamins and moisturizing effects that can be helpful for your hair's health. Several haircare products, ranging from styling treatments to shampoos, contain aloe vera and other natural ingredients. Over time, the aloe can help condition your hair for a naturally softer, shinier feel and look.

Aubrey Organics J.A.Y. Desert Herb Shampoo

Aubrey Organics' shampoo comes formulated with yucca extract, organic aloe vera and jojoba oil, reports haircare expert Paula Begoun. The aloe and jojoba oil help hydrate and strengthen your hair while the yucca extract works as a natural cleanser to lift away oil and dirt from your hair and scalp. Additional beneficial ingredients include panthenol, linoleic acid and vitamin C.

Aveda Smooth Infusion Shampoo

"Real Simple" magazine's editors tested 195 shampoo products and rank Aveda's treatment as the best natural product. They gave it top marks for both its earth-friendly recycled packaging and its use of aloe vera and babassu oil, which helps combat dry hair conditions. Additional herbal extracts, like maize and guar bean, help clean the hair.

Aveda also offers a Smooth Infusion conditioner that also contains aloe vera, plus additional emollients. However, "Real Simple" did not test the conditioner.

Bumble & Bumble Alojoba Shampoo

Bumble & Bumble's shampoo comes recommended by "Elle" magazine, which praised its combination of organic aloe vera gel and chamomile, calling it a "moisture-rich hair smoothie." As the aloe vera moisturizes, hydrolyzed wheat protein and panthenol help nourish each hair strand as vitamin E soothes and protects the hair from future damage.

Suave Naturals Aloe Vera Extra Hold Anti-Frizz Smoothing Gel

Good haircare products containing aloe vera aren't only available in department stores and salons. Suave, a budget-friendly drugstore brand, infuses its styling gel with aloe vera. It helps give your hair the body and hold you want for your favorite hair style while aloe vera gel helps smooth down the hair and combat signs of dryness, like frizz or split ends.
