Fitness videos are a fun alternative to exercising in the gym. If you wish to trim your midsection, try some videos that are created to help tone your abdominal muscles. You will be able to find a wide variety to help keep your routine fresh and exciting. Most videos suggest using an exercise mat.

For this workout program, you will need a Pilates circle, which is a flexible ring that you can purchase at most sporting goods stores. The workout uses the ring to help place your body in the correct position. There is a lot of variety in this routine that targets the abdominal muscles. In addition to promising a toned stomach, this workout video suggests that its program also help to tone your legs. This video is about 45 minutes in length.

"Kathy Smith: Tummy Trimmers"

This DVD contains five ab-toning segments, all around 10 minutes in length. The video is programmed so that you select the workouts you want to do each day, choosing just one, or combining them for a longer workout. Each segment targets the abdominals in a different way. You will need a stability ball for one of the segments. Instructor Kathy Smith's friendly personality makes the workouts enjoyable.

This tough video contains seven different workouts, and you are meant to do one each day of the week. The variety will help keep you motivated every day. You will need a set of light dumbbells, around one to three pounds. Each segment is about 10 to 15 minutes long, but they are challenging, providing a heartier workout.

"Cathe Friedrich: Core Max"

Cathe Friedrich's DVD contains three different targeted core workouts. In additional to abdominals, core workouts also train the hips and lower back. Friedrich works the abdominals from every angle using great detail in her instruction. You will need a stability ball and a medicine ball. A dumbbell can be used in place of the medicine ball. The segments are around 20 minutes in length.
