Several methods exist for cleaning the grips on your golf clubs. A straightforward approach is to wipe them down with a wet cloth. This will clean the surface, but not eliminate the deep oils that accumulate in the grooves. Using cleaning products, such as window cleaner, will do the job, but possibly dry out the material used to create the grip. Several manufacturers suggest cleaning golf grips with soapy water.

Step 1

Fill the sink with warm water. Add a one squirt of dishwashing soap to the water as the sink fills.

Step 2

Place the club upside down on the edge of the sink. Immerse the grip section in the warm, sudsy water.

Step 3

Wipe the grip with a clean cloth saturated with soapy water. Scrub the grip to remove oil and dirt embedded in the ridges.

Step 4

Rinse the grip off under running water to remove soap residue.

Step 5

Wipe the grip with an absorbent towel, such as terrycloth. Set the clubs aside, and let them finishing drying, if necessary.
