Stretch marks commonly occur on the butt, hips, thighs and breasts and are a result of rapid growth and stretching of the skin. They can appear reddish or purplish at first and diminish in time, leaving lines that may appear indented, with a different texture from the rest of the skin. These marks are fairly common and can affect women or men, according to an article published by Kids Health (see Resources). Removing stretch marks from the breasts can be done with several approaches.

Microdermabrasion

Step 1

Consider microdermabrasion or laser treatments. Creams, lotions and skincare products can help reduce the appearance of stress marks. However, making them disappear cannot be done without the help of a dermatologist, according to an article reviewed by Patrice Hyde, MD, chief of the division of dermatology at the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, and clinical assistant professor of dermatology and pediatrics at Jefferson Medical College.

Step 2

Purchase a home microdermabrasion kit. Kits for the body are meant for use on the chest, arms and hands and can be a cheaper alternative to microdermabrasion procedures done in a clinic or medical office. Look for a product with a microdermabrasion wand, as these tools are intended for eliminating scars, burns, stretch marks and skin imperfections.

Step 3

Do a patch test. This will require using the product in an obscure place on the body and waiting for adverse reactions (refer to the product guide for estimated time). These kits typically work better on the chest (including the breasts) and body areas than the face, because skin on the body is thicker and less sensitive than skin on the face. If no reaction occurs, the procedure can be done on the chest.

Step 4

Clean the skin on the breasts and the area intended for treatment. This will give you an appropriate base for the product to work. Refrain from using other products, such as lotions or oils.

Step 5

Apply the treatment as directed, following all the package instructions. Moisturize the skin after the treatment. Continue to use the product as directed. If the product does not produce the desired results, visit a dermatologist.
