Golf provides a recreational fitness experience for people of all skill levels and ages--even young children and the elderly can participate. While golf may appear relatively simple, it takes years to master. If you're looking to get started in this challenging sport, choose a set of golf clubs that fits your body, playing style and budget.
Step 1
Borrow or rent a set of clubs before you buy your first set. Get a feel for which clubs out of the set you actually use and what you like or don't like about each club. Once you understand how different clubs can affect your comfort and playing ability, you'll be more likely to make a smart purchase.
Step 2
Visit sporting goods stores or golf supply shops and try individual clubs. Check out the different head sizes on each club, and see how each one feels when you swing.
