When a hair shaft coils and starts growing back into your skin, the result is inflammation and skin irritation. Ingrown hairs can create skin bumps that are painful and embarrassing. Although anyone who shaves, tweezes, waxes or uses another form of hair removal is susceptible, ingrown hairs occur most often in dark skinned males between the ages of 14 to 25, according to MayoClinic.com.

Step 1

Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide into a cup and dip the needle-nosed tweezers in the cup to sterilize them.

Step 2

Use one of the tweezer tips to hook the ingrown hair and lift it out of its follicle.

Step 3

Note the direction the hair is growing and gently tweeze it in that direction.

Step 4

Disinfect the area with a dab of alcohol or hydrogen peroxide applied to a cotton ball.

Step 5

Rub some aftershave moisturizer on the tweezed area to close the skin pore.

Things You'll Need
