Going out on a date doesn't have to be dinner or a movie. Get creative when planning your next date, whether meeting someone for the first time or a significant other you have dated for several months. Dating needs to be fun and not stressful. Plan a date well in advanced to relax and enjoy your partner. Research the local area for upcoming events and recreational areas.

Early Morning Breakfast

A date doesn't have to occur only during the night time hours. Breakfast is a great way to fuel up for the day, and a chance to talk over a warm egg soufflé. Call local restaurants for breakfast specials---some bistros and cafes offer full breakfast buffet and brunch specials that last into the early afternoon.

Balloon Ride

Sailing through the clouds can be romantic in a hot air balloon. Many balloon enthusiasts take on additional passengers for a small fee. Bring along a picnic basket and wine while you and your date enjoy the ride. Rides generally take place during dusk or dawn when the wind is best. The ride lasts one hour---the entire experience from blowing up the balloon to deflation is generally three to four hours.

Hiking and Camping

Hit the wilderness trails and enjoy nature. Make sure to dress for the occasion and plan to spend several hours on the trails. Pack water, food and a blanket. Go camping for the night, or simply build a bonfire and enjoy the early evening hours.

Ride the Bike

Riding a bike is a great way to combine a physical activity and time spent together. Map out a bike path and distance ahead of time. If bikes are not available, they can generally be rented from various locations. Check into renting a tandem bike, a bike built for two people.

The Zoo

Generally thought of as an activity for children, a visit to the local zoo can be a great date setting. Plan to spend the day learning about different animal species and each other. Pack a backpack with snacks. Many zoos offer additional activities such as Zoo Sleepovers---a chance to explore the night time habits of animals in the park.
