Properly maintaining the grips on your golf clubs will increase the life of the grips and improve your hold on the clubs. One of the most basic, yet essential, aspects of proper grip maintenance is regular cleaning. You can quickly clean your golf club grips using just a few basic household items.
Step 1
Fill a sink with warm water. Add a moderate amount of mild dish detergent as the sink is filling to create suds and spread the detergent evenly throughout the water.
Step 2
Wet a cloth in the sink, and collect suds on the surface of the towel.
Step 3
Apply the suds to the grip, and rub the suds gently into the grip with the towel.
Step 4
Scrub heavy spots or dirt that is lodged into the grooves of your grip with a soft brush or toothbrush. Wet the brush in the sink, and scrub the grip with a gentle, circular motion to work dirt out of the grooves.
Step 5
Rinse the grip with warm, running water, and dry it with a lint-free cloth.
