Famous professional skateboarder Mike Vallely of Long Beach, CA told The New York Times that skateboarding was "more rock ’n' roll than athletics." This should work in your favor since many girls find rock ’n' roll and athleticism impressive. If you want to impress a girl on a skateboard, show her your best tricks and explain how you pull them off. Giving her a little impromptu riding lesson may also impress her–plus it allows an opportunity to hold her hand.
Step 1
Ride up to the girl and perform a short trick to stop your board in front of her–such as a kick turn–where you kick down on the board with your back foot, making the front wheels pop up and the tail drag. Slide up to her using this move, then stop, smile and say hello.
Step 2
Ask her if she'd like you to do a few tricks. Start with an Ollie by kicking down on the back of the board to lift the front wheels. Then shift your body forward and jump, causing the entire board to leave the ground. Land with both feet on the board. Do a few of these Ollies and explain to her what the trick is called and how to accomplish it. Don't forget to smile.
Step 3
Ask if she wants to see another trick. Say something playful and complimentary to make her smile such as "I might fall, but it's okay–I'll risk it for you."
Step 4
Show her a few more tricks, such as kick-flips. Kick down on your skateboard, then quickly hop, allowing the board to spin lengthwise, then land back on the board. Grind your board along the curb. Try some more advanced tricks such as a shove-it, a casper or an end-over–if you're game. Talk to her about how long you've been riding and how often you practice.
Step 5
Ask her if she'd like to take a little ride. Make sure you have a safety helmet to put on her head. A skateboard helmet should meet the safety standards approved by the American National Standards Institute, the American Society for Testing and Materials or the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, according to the Children's Hospital of Boston. Don't forget to tell her she looks cute with the helmet on.
Step 6
Hold her hand and let her slowly roll along beside you. Pick up the pace if she feels comfortable. Talk to her as you walk alongside her, continuing to hold her hand. Tell her why you love skateboarding. Ask her about the hobbies that she enjoys.
Step 7
Try teaching her a trick, if she's up for it. Teach her a simple Ollie, and stand close so you can catch her if she falls.
