Bald spots and the loss of hair is a very embarrassing condition for millions who suffer from it. You lose your hair when your hair follicles stop working properly and cease to make the chemical keratin. Keratin is the essential ingredient in hair production, so to regain hair you must start producing it again. Hair loss can happen when you eat a poor diet, suffer from anxiety, are sick or have an inherited predisposition to baldness. Baldness can't be cured but you can try some hair loss treatments along with a healthy lifestyle.

Step 1

Drink the recommended amount of water to regain lost hair. If you don't drink enough, it is tough for your body to get the nutrients it needs to produce keratin. The Mayo Clinic recommends drinking at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water every day.

Step 2

Fill your diet with protein to regain lost hair. Protein keeps your skin looking healthy and young by replenishing it with the nutrients it needs to start producing keratin once more. Eat protein-laden food at every meal, including eggs, yogurt, granola and whole grains.

Step 3

Massage minoxidil into your scalp to regain lost hair. Minoxidil can be found at any pharmacy and the Mayo Clinic says it is a very effective tool to regain lost hair.

Step 4

See your doctor for steroid injections to regain lost hair. During steroid injections your doctor will target bald spots with a needle full of steroid solution. The steroids stop your damaged hair follicles from destroying themselves and promote keratin production. The Mayo Clinic says you should start to see new hair growing in places you want to regain lost hair.
