Your skin, and your bank account, will thank you.
Honey Cucumber Facial Toner
Place one large, unpeeled, organic cucumber in a blender or food processor. Puree the cucumber, then pour it through a strainer into a bowl. Add 3 tsp. natural honey and mix thoroughly. Place the honey cucumber facial toner in an airtight container. Place the container in the refrigerator and use the toner within one week. Apply the toner to the neck and face every morning and night, advises Benefits-of-Honey.com. Allow the toner to air dry, then rinse the toner from your skin and pat your skin dry with a soft towel.
Cleansing Milk
Natural cleansers made from milk and herbs are much healthier for the skin than harsh soaps, according to EasyHomeRemedy.com. Place 1 cup of organic half and half in a glass container. Stir in 1 tbsp. fresh or dried rose petals, 1 tbsp. fresh or dried chamomile or elderflower blossoms and 2 tbsp. fresh or dried calendula blossoms. Cover the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least eight hours, then strain the cleansing milk through a fine mesh strainer. Store the cleansing milk in the refrigerator and use it within a week. Moisten your face with water, then dip a clean cotton ball or cosmetic sponge into the cleansing milk. Clean your face gently, then rinse with warm water.
Natural Hand Softener
Place 1/3 cup dark brown sugar into a small bowl. Stir in enough oil to make a paste. Use any healthy oil, such as coconut oil, almond oil or olive oil. Massage the natural hand softener into your hands with a washing motion, advises The Daily Green. Rinse your hands with warm water, then pat them dry with a soft towel.
Foot Massage Oil
Combine 1 tbsp. jojoba oil, coconut oil or olive oil with 1 tsp. aloe vera juice and 1 tsp. oil of wheat germ. Stir in 15 to 20 drops of eucalyptus essential oil and 15 to 20 drops of peppermint oil. Massage the soothing foot massage oil into your feet, recommends Home Spa Recipes by Southern Illinois University. Alternatively, pour the mixture into a basin of warm water and soak your feet.
