The busy modern lifestyle brings with it a lot of stresses. Long hours at work, social commitments, maintaining relationships and exercise regimes can all place a strain on your health, especially if your diet is unbalanced and/or you’re not getting enough sleep, states Acupressure.com. However, certain points on your body, when manipulated, can help to release tension, improve circulation and boost your immune system.

Boost Your Immune System and Ease Anxiety

Find this acupressure point by measuring three thumb-widths up from the base of your breast bone, according to Acupressure.com. Press your palms together and place the backs of both thumbs against the point. Close your eyes and breathe deeply, focusing on each inhalation and exhalation. Hold the position for about 30 seconds.

Relieve Headaches, Hangovers and Tired Eyes

To relieve a sore head, overworked eyes and even ease fainting, Acupressure.com recommends manipulating two pressure points in succession. The first is on the inside of your ankle between your ankle bone and Achilles tendon. Use the heel of your opposite foot to rub this point for 30 seconds then use your heel to rub the second point, which is between the knuckles of your big and second toes. Repeat the exercise on the opposite ankle and foot.

Tone Skin Around Your Eyes

According to Healthy New Age, acupressure on the face can help to relax tense muscles, which can cause wrinkles, and boost the nutrient-rich flow of blood to the area. To invigorate and tone your eye muscles, press your middle fingers in a circle around your eyes. Start at the inner point of your eyebrow and work across the brow and around under the eye. Healthy New Age recommends doing 30 circles a day. Save time by doing them as you apply your moisturizer or eye cream.

Ease Stomach Pain and Constipation

This exercise, according to Acupressure.com, can relieve stomach-related disorders, improve the functioning of your internal organs and boost the overall performance of your immune system. BellaOnline says to start this exercise by sitting or standing with your back straight and your shoulders relaxed. Press firmly on the Sea of Energy point, which is about halfway between your navel and the line between your hip bones. Close your eyes and concentrate on your breathing as you apply firm pressure to this point for up to one minute.
