Regular shaving can cause skin irritation and a burning sensation for many men. Dull blades, improper technique, ingrown hairs and sensitive skin can all play a part in your face crying out for some relief once your shave is over. The use of an after shave balm will soothe and moisturize your face. This will help take away any discomfort you may feel.
Step 1
Apply heat to your face before you shave to open your pores and help prevent ingrown hairs. Use a sharp razor and shave with the grain of the hair to minimize skin irritation.
Step 2
Wash your face in cold water when you are finished shaving. This will close your pores, and can help stop bleeding if you nicked yourself while shaving.
Step 3
Place a liberal amount of after shave balm in your hand, and apply it to all of the areas you have shaved, including your neck. Rub it into your skin gently until it is absorbed.
