Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont, is one of the premier skiing destinations in New England. The resort occupies more than 4,000 acres with 578 acres of skiable terrain. With more than 111 trails, there are plenty of skiing options for skiers of every skill level. Sugarbush also boasts retail, 19 restaurants, a health club, lounges and more.
Gadd Peak Trails
At 3,150 feet, Gadd Peak offers a number of trails that are perfect for the beginner and intermediate skier. The Snowball is a perfect cruising trail, winding you around the side of the mountain, giving you amazing views of the basin. Stein's Run is a black diamond trail that is named after Stein Eriksen, the 1952 Olympic gold medal skier and Ski+Ride school director.
Lincoln Peak Trails
Lincoln Peak, at 3,975 feet, is the original mountain of the Sugarbush Resort. The Lower Jester, Sugarbush's first ski trail is still a classic. More than 7,000 feet of skiing takes you along a curvy, winding path, which used to be a logging road. The Lower Jester still offers some of the most scenic views, and is perfect for skiers who've had a little practice.
Castlerock Peak Trails
At 3,812 feet, Castlerock Peak offers great trails for advanced and expert skiers. The terrain is rocky, with lots of natural snow and exposed ground. For thrill-seekers, the best trails are the Lifeline Trail, a steep, rocky plunge that travels right under the ski lift. The most difficult trail, The Rumble is perfect for expert skiers who like the feeling of launching airborne mid-run.
North Lynx Peak Trails
North Lynx Peak is at an elevation of 3,300 feet and offers the best sunny day skiing. The best trail on the peak is the Village Run, which is a guest favorite. Close to 6,000 feet of skiing, the trail goes right by the condos on the property, and provides a great tour of the grounds.
Mt. Ellen Trails
For the expert skier, it doesn't get any better than the Black Diamond and Exterminator trails that begin at the 4,083-foot peak of Mt. Ellen. These runs are bumpy, quick, steep and exhilarating. Skiers who have the ability to master these trails will be delighted by the panoramic views of the Slide Brook Basin.
Inverness Trails
For beginner skiers, Walt's Trail is a 5,712 winding feet long. Beginning the Inverness Peak, which has an elevation of 2,750 feet, the trail heads down gradually with wide clear skiing paths and minimal obstacles. Ending at the base of the Mt. Ellen Lodge, beginner skiers have a perfect place to catch their breath between runs.
