The Grand View Lodge is located in Nisswa, Minnesota, approximately 142 miles northwest of Minneapolis and 19 miles from Brainerd. The lodge has been on the National Registry of Historic Places since 1979 and is one of the most popular resort spas in the Brainerd Lakes area. The lodge sits on the banks of Gull Lake and offers guests an abundance of recreational activities, food and dining opportunities, luxurious lodging and a fully equipped spa. Throughout the year, guests can order packages that allow them to indulge in things such as golf and spa services.
Accommodations
The Lodge’s 65 cabins are located on the resort’s main property and are located right next to Gull Lake. Each cabin is within walking distance from golf courses, gift shops, the spa and the 1,500-foot natural beach. The resort offers a variety of cabin designs that range from a one-bedroom honeymoon cabin to an eight-bedroom family cabin. Comfortable rooms also are offered at the lodge, which is near the swimming pool, dining areas and shops. Each room is equipped with private air conditioning and heating, in-suite bathrooms and relaxing lounges. The golf course area of the lodge offers villas, clubhouse suites and town homes. These accommodations are equipped for up to 10 guests and offer visitors spectacular views of the fairways.
Food and Drink
The Grand View Lodge Resort and Spa offers a variety of restaurants that offer Minnesota heritage and international cuisines. Loony’s Beach Hut, the Northwoods Pub and the Grand Dining Room are just some of the many dining establishments found on the resort. Loony’s Beach Hut overlooks the water and offers guests a variety of grilled dishes, salads and ice cream that are served a la carte. Northwoods Pub offers quick meals for people on the go. Their menu features a variety of soups, salads and burgers and sandwiches. All meals are served in a family-friendly environment and offer guests a variety of cocktails, wines and other alcoholic beverages. The Grand Dining Room is located in the main lodge and serves traditional Minnesotan cuisine, such as walleye and Minnesota Wild Rice Soup, along with other American fare.
Spa Services
Guests are given opportunities to relax and unwind at the Glacial Waters Spa. The spa is fully serviced and uses waters that are mineral-enriched from the nearby crystal lakes. The spa offers a variety of massages, scrubs, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures. The spa even offers spa parties, which include traditional services, as well as customizable gifts for you and your group.
Golf
The Grand View Lodge features golf courses that have been rated among the top 100 in the U.S. by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and Golfweek. The Pines is a 27-hole course that offers shorter but challenging holes. A driving range and a small practice area are available for golfers that want to improve their game. The Preserve is an 18-hole championship golf course that is designed for all skill levels. The Garden Course is a nine-hole, par-35 course located on the lodge’s historic grounds. The Deacon’s Lodge is a championship golf course designed by Arnold Palmer that is set on more than 500 acres of beautiful land.
Activities
The resort offers a variety of activities that are appropriate for adults and children. The Kid’s Club and Adventure Club offer supervised programs and activities for children between the ages of 3 and 12. Activities that adults can enjoy include hiking, water sliding and fishing opportunities depending on the time of the year. The lodge also houses a pair of shops, The Cote Closet and MV Baker's Mercantile, that offer lodge-themed gear, as well as clothes, jewelry, toys and books.
