Brighton is one of England’s premier cities on the beach and a popular destination for beach lovers, swimmers, sailors and those interested in some relaxing walks on the Brighton promenade. In addition to a multitude of hotels, a number of camping options exist in the immediate Brighton area for both tent campers and those with caravans.

Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club

Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club is located in east Brighton, just a short distance from the marina and a stone’s throw from East Brighton Park. The town center is nearby via bus, rail or car and offers a variety of shopping and dining options. The camp itself sits on 17 acres and can accommodate tents, caravans (pop-up trailers) and motor homes. Open all year-round, Sheepcote allows dogs, offers electrical hookups and provides laundry facilities, water closets and showers.

Blackberry Wood Campsite

Blackberry Wood Campsite, located just eight miles from the Brighton seafront, offers relative privacy in a country setting. Open year-round, the camp accommodates just 20 tents and encourages both campfires and barbecues. Facilities include toilets and hot showers. At Blackberry Wood Campsite, every camper receives a map pointing out scenic walks and local pubs. Campers can bring dogs as long as they remain on a lead and behave appropriately.

The Barn Caravan Park

The Barn Caravan Park, located between Brighton and Worthing, accommodates tents, caravans and motor homes. Open year-round, the facility is a five-minute walk to the beach and just six miles away from the center of Brighton. Electrical hookups are available, as well as Wi-Fi, a playground and brick barbecues and picnic tables. The campsite also offers toilets and cold showers. Dogs are allowed if they’re kept on a lead. Reservations are recommended.

Spring Barn Farm

The Spring Barn Farm is in Lewes, about seven miles from the center of Brighton and just a short walk from the South Downs Way. The campsite accommodates tents only and does not allow dogs. Facilities at this seasonal campsite include mobile toilets. According to the UK Campsite website, facility enhancements are planned so you may wish to check on current facilities before your trip. The Spring Barn Farm offers on-site dining at the “country farmhouse.”

Buckle Holiday Park

The Buckle Holiday Park accommodates tents, caravans and motor homes. Each site is generously measured. Electric hookups are available for caravans and motor homes. Buckle Holiday Park is located in Seaford, approximately nine miles away from Brighton's center. Facilities include toilets, showers, a dishwashing area and a chemical disposal point. The park offers private access to the award-winning Seaford Bay Beach.
