Proform GL 35 Instructions

The ProForm GL 35 is an exercise bike equipped with a four-window LED display, a built-in heart rate monitor and four preprogrammed workouts. The device is designed to simulate the movements involved in cycling, with adjustable resistance and incline settings that allow the user to increase or reduce the difficulty of a workout as desired. The GL 35 is comprised of many different components; however, the assembly process is straightforward and requires only the use of basic hand tools to complete.

Step 1

Fit the front stabilizer into the bracket located at the bottom of the bike's base. Insert carriage bolts through the stabilizer, into the bracket, and tighten the bolts until the stabilizer is secure. Fit the rear stabilizer into the bracket located opposite the front stabilizer and fasten it in place with carriage bolts.

Step 2

Loosen the adjustment knob located on the side of the bike's base, near the upright support. Lift the upright above the slot at the top of the support. Take the wire protruding from the bottom of the upright and connect it to the wire located inside the support; feed the excess wire into the support.

Step 3

Pull the adjustment knob outwards and insert the upright into the slot; release the knob. Insert a screw into the hole located on the side of the base, below the upright. Tighten the screw until the upright is secure, then tighten the adjustment knob. Align the holes on the water bottle holder to the holes located near the upper end of the upright; insert screws and tighten them until the holder is secure.

Step 4

Place the handlebar collars over the ends of the left handlebar. Fit the ends of the right handlebar onto the ends of the left handlebar. Insert screws into the holes on each collar, then tighten the screws to secure the handlebars together.

Step 5

Fit the handlebar assembly onto the handlebar bracket and screw the pieces together. Align the holes in the center of the bracket with those below the bracket located at the top end of the upright. Insert screws through the holes and tighten them securely.

Step 6

Connect the wire protruding from the top of the upright to the wire dangling from the bottom of the console unit. Feed the excess wire into the upright and align the holes on the console with those on the upright bracket. Insert screws through the holes and tighten them securely. Open the battery cover located on the bottom of the console and install four “D” batteries; close the cover.

Step 7

Loosen the adjustment knob located below the slot for the seat post. Pull the knob out and insert the seat post into the slot; release the knob and tighten it securely. Screw the seat pad to the seat bracket. Loosen and pull the adjustment knob located at the top of the seat post. Fit the seat bracket onto the seat post, then release the knob and tighten it securely.

Step 8

Screw the pedals into the holes locate at the end of each crank arm. Fit the pedal straps onto the tabs located on both sides of the pedals.
