Cetaphil is a skin care line produced by Galderma Laboratories and is specifically formulated for sensitive skin. Cetaphil cleansers are fragrance free, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, non-irritating and non-drying, according to Galderma's official website. Available at most drugstores and supermarkets, Cetaphil is relatively inexpensive and is a popular option for cleaning babies and infants.
Step 1
Prepare to clean the baby by gathering the Cetaphil soap, towels and washcloths. Decide if you want to clean the baby in a tub of water, in a sink or in a bathtub. Prepare the water, making sure it is not too hot or too cold. Undress the baby and place her in or near the water.
Step 2
Lather your hands or a washcloth with the Cetaphil soap. Depending on the specific Cetaphil cleanser you are using, this may require you to pump the container to get a dollop of the cleaner or rub the bar of soap under running water.
Step 3
Rub the soap on the baby’s skin. Be gentle, but apply enough pressure to remove any dirt or messes where necessary.
Step 4
Rinse the skin with water. Make sure all the soap is rinsed off to avoid leaving a soapy residue on the baby’s skin.
Tips and Warnings
- The official website of Cetaphil notes that their mildest skin cleanser is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Some Cetaphil cleansers do not require water. If you would like to clean baby using these Cetaphil products, simply rub the cleanser on the skin and allow the area to air dry. Cetaphil cleansers may also be used as shampoo for babies.
